Employees & Roles
Add staff, assign a role, and control exactly what each person can see and do.
Adding an employee
From the Employees screen, invite a new staff member by email and assign them a role and designation. They'll receive an invite to set up their own login. Nobody shares a single account.
Roles
Every role comes with a preset list of permissions, so access stays consistent across your team without you having to configure it per person:
| Role | Access |
|---|---|
| Org Owner | Full access to every module across every branch, including billing and settings. |
| Branch Manager | Full access within their branch: orders, tables, menu, inventory, employees, reports. |
| POS Manager | Oversees POS operations at a branch: orders, tables, and shift/session management. |
| Cashier | Create and update orders, view customers and reports, take payments. |
| Waiter | Create and update orders, manage tables, view customers. |
| Kitchen Staff | View orders and update their preparation status on the Kitchen Display. |
| Inventory Staff | Full access to inventory: stock levels, suppliers, purchase orders. |
| Accountant | View and export reports, read-only on everything else. |
Designations vs. roles
A role controls what an employee can access in SkillyPOS. A designation is just a label (e.g. “Head Chef”, “Floor Supervisor”) for your own records and doesn't affect permissions.
Deactivating an employee
When someone leaves, deactivate their account instead of deleting it. This immediately revokes their access while keeping their name attached to past orders and reports for an accurate history.
