Sessions

Business-day sessions group together every shift and sale for the day, for clean, reconcilable reporting.

Opening a session

A session represents one business day of POS activity at a branch. Someone with the right permissions opens the session at the start of the day. The terminal won't take orders until a session is open.

Shifts within a session

Within an open session, each cashier starts their own shift when they sign in to the POS terminal. This attributes every sale to the person who made it, which matters when more than one person works the till on the same day.

Closing a session

At the end of the day, close the session. Once closed, a session is read-only: a complete, locked-in record of every order, payment, and shift for that day. The Sessions screen lists past sessions with their status (open or closed), who opened them, and how many shifts ran during the day.

Tip: Close out the previous day's session before opening a new one. This keeps your daily reports and cash reconciliation accurate.
